Hermit from Jan 1, 2014

"Hermit"
Prismacolor pencil on black paper 11" x 14"

This one was a bit painful to do, the over all idea was mixed, from her being a hollow shell for the hermit crab to live in and also that her vagina was a giant crab. I thought the hermit crab's shell would integrate nicely, but it didn't, having to give up the girls legs which wasn't a compromise I liked.
Overall though she is not horrible, which was my fear. I put so much time into the layers that you can't see the out come for days, I can't tell if the face will look okay until it is practically complete, and some times the outcome is horrible and must be scrapped. Some are salvageable but not many.

The whole thing has grown on me, a giant hermit crab living in her vagina.

Play Thing from Jan 1, 2014

"Play Thing" Prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
 297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

A Barbie's head on a My Little Pony's body.
Anna (my daughter) and I did a photo shoot with her Barbies and My Little Ponies, to match up the lighting.
I thought it was quite a original idea, but after the fact I found a lot of doll heads jammed on pony and horse bodies in a Google search.

I'm filling up negative space with tentacles.
I think of this drawing like some magic wish granting creature, that doesn't understand completely what you mean, but is eager to please.

Feeding from Dec 10, 2013

The yellow outline with a bit of  base colour

Progress of "Feeding."

First was the yellow framing and outline, to get everything in shape and the proportions of the face right, with a bit of the base layering then more layering with a bit of tone,
then in come the eyes, and more colour to the skin,
then the neck is sea snailed up, this idea came to me at work waiting tables, I did not want her whole neck and shoulders in this drawing, not unlike the "Garden", just this idea of a floating head.

This was a day by day scan of the image, some days get more work done by a few hours due to work or watching the kids, making sure they don't die or damage the house.
Now and then I want to do a "W.I.P." with a step by step, but it is such a pain in the arse to scan the thing being A3, and my scanner only A4, fusing it all together on photoshop, lining it up, plus it stops me from drawing. This time I scanned before starting on the new day.

getting started on the skin colour and tones

in come the eyes and teeth.
Teeth have become a new favorite thing, along time
ago I hated doing teeth, and would avoid them

the shells to seal the neck

the mouth and tentacles. there is still the hair and
tentacles to go, as well as the ear, and desire
whether to commit to a background or not

hair

finishing her off with eyelashes.
the background is out, it is cluttered enough

Julia from the Strawberry Topping series from Nov 30, 2013

Julia3 the Strawberry Topping series, prismacolor
pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

There are not a lot of good photos left from this shoot with Julia involving the strawberry topping, if any thing we shall do some shots maybe with other topping like lime, if I can find any at Coles. There was a lot of great lighting coming through the syrup and shiny reflections.

The usual under lighting, but I finally have captured some reflections in the eyes. That little bit of white light reflection in the eyes, always brings it to life.

Something Satanic from Nov 10, 2013

"Something Satanic"
prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
 297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

"The Bride"
prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
 297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

"Honeymoon,Squid Spread"
prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

Detail of "Squid Spread," While working on this part with
the tentacles, fusing them into the vagina was enjoyable
and was looking good. But afterwards it did not seem
so special, I guess staring at it for hours intensified it for me.

Something Satanic, All three were enjoyable to draw. The goat head came out better than I had planned/hoped. Something always draws me toward soapy, bubbly chests, like in real life, bubbles web and construct themselves like a tiny city, reflecting light.

The bride was mostly about the dress and the tits, I was putting in a lot of white, and after every thing is whited up, it can always use another coat of white, burning through so many pencils, endlessly sharpening. There is a nice bouquet of tentacles. A lot of movement and wiggle.

Strawberry topping from Oct 23, 2013

"Julia, Smiles" prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

This is from the forth photo shoot with Julia, this time we mostly worked with strawberry topping. Strawberry topping is red, a bit translucent, thick, flows slowly, and gooey.
Julia is a real trooper. This will not be the last drooling smile, it gave me a real looney toon vibe.

from Oct 9, 2013

"Alison Blind"
prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

"Alison, Blind". Not unlike "Julia, Crows". Tentacles exit the eye sockets as Alison holds her eye lids open. There was some great lighting with this reference photo, and with great lighting comes great shadows.

" Kiss of the rainbow Tick "
prismacolor pencil on black paper 11" x 14"

" Kiss of the rainbow Tick " Mouth clamped open with crab claws, as tentacles reach out. Drool runs down across the chin, capturing light and glowing.

"Second Temple"
prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

"Second Temple" is another swing at "The Temple", with repeating skulls, filled with tentacles.

" Jelly "
prismacolor pencil on black paper 11" x 14"

" Jelly " This looks like the beginning of my underwear obsession, with the mind set of not knowing what's underneath, fabric and camel toes. It's very "what's in the box?"

I put a tentacle pattern on the underwear, the legs cut off with the other purple tentacles.
The ass shaped sea urchin floats above, surrounded by small jellyfish.

Cherie and Pearl from Sep 9, 2013

Cherie
prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

I just wanted to draw this girl, named Cherie, she had great shine on her with light reflecting off her oiled body. Strong tan lines, with tentacles climbing up her buttocks.

Pearl
prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

Cervix, spiraling out are tentacles, rapping around the hands.
Vaginas are not easy to draw for me, the light reflecting has to be right. I have failed many a vagina, I have multiple pages of incomplete, failed and incorrect vulvas. I put in hours of work only to stuff it up.

The Sea Urchin from Aug 23, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

Now and then I stick a sea urchin into the drawing, I saw a lot  of them as a child around the coast. They look pretty cool, but when ever I'm drawing one I feel like I'm just drawing many, many nipples.

Two girls face each other as tentacles reach out of their mouths, the two girls were meant to be identical, but that didn't happen, with the eye and bridge of the nose.  The sea urchin, half skull on the under side sharing eye sockets. I'm trying to give the sea urchin a pink halo that melts and dissolves, smoking. A sea of crab claws reach up from the bottom.

Blink from Aug 19, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

Multiple eyes on the side of the face, in profile. A portrait.

There is some nice shadows, all over the face. I'm drawing the same eye over and over again.

There's a green to blue halo, and I'm cutting corners, cutting the head off at the collar bone.

Under the sea from Aug 5, 2013

The Fourth Succubus
prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

The Fourth Succubus. The tentacles between the legs had a great shine on them, and I had to use that reference because that shine, where I basically replicated it, and then stuck it between a pair of legs.

The Third Drowning
prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

Tentacles pull through her hair, her ribs exposed with crab claws and tentacles reaching through. Like an immortal corpse found washed up on the beach.

1000 Tears from Jul 26, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

From lips to eyes, to replace the suckers of tentacles, but after staring at tentacles forever the sucker do look like a white iris and pupil.

The green and purple of the tentacles worked out. I couldn't help but put worm like segments over the outer side of the tentacles, I'm trying to make the underside nice and soft in comparison.

Sucker from Jul 22, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
 297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

The lips on the suckers of the tentacle will be repeating through other drawings, they are just so plump and round, very circler.

Lips for sucker on a tentacle, I think is a good idea, which I will do more than once. But it can get crazy if the lips are not similar, with multiple lips and mouths and tongues, it will look like the tentacle is arguing with itself.

A Second Drowning from Jul 16, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

This was another thing I had to get out of the way. With a back ground that was all tentacle.

Besides the end of hair becoming tentacles, there is some nice rainbow effect in the fringe.

I did try to flood the back ground with tentacles, and when that ran out of steam, I filled space with bubbles...

There is a bit of circle work on the tentacles giving it a bumpy texture. Suckers are standard.

Julia, Crab from Jul 8, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

We used clothes pegs to simulate the crabs claws in the photo shoot. These shoots don't happen all the time, back then, it was every 6 months or a year. Trying to get as many ideas banged out in one shoot, and in about 30 minutes, I run out of steam and ideas. I'd need a list, I can't wing it.

The forehead is fused with the underneath of the crab. which I think looks effective, it makes a nice crown or head piece. Multiple crab claws reach up at the face, pinching the lips, manipulating the mouth, showing of those nice teeth.

About teeth... I like teeth, I like it also when they are natural, not straightened. They become original, where white straightened teeth, all nice and neat, become samey. I was once a tooth snob, but I guess I have matured. I think it was a lot of Japanese porn that completed my teeth fetish. This may not be the last time I go on about teeth.

Dying Widow from Jun 29, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

The eight legs coming together all sharing the same anus, curling in, like that of a dying spider.

Tentacles flailing and twist in the back.

It's funny that there is a lot of planning involved with tentacles, not just squiggles, but having to plan where the suckers go. I like to spiral the suckers around the cylinder.

Double Dragon from Jun 18, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

Double Dragon.  This must be the first arcade game I ever cared about, and getting my hands on Double Dragon 2 on the NES saved me the coin and supported my isolation.
A lot of sprite replication going on, Billy and Jimmy, villains, and the Bubble Bubble dragons.
A portrait of  Marian in the centre, tits out. Filling out the back ground with a rainbow spectrum.

HeartSquid from Jun 10, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

The squid's mantle is a human heart, the aorta and arteries spawn tentacles, the large eye sits centre.

This is another body part animal, like the Heart-crab, and Vulva snail.

Siren Ursula from Jun 6, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

The minor obsession with "The Little Mermaid" continues.

Tentacles flow out of the ribcage like other organs.

A direct comparison of a sea urchin and the shape of the butt.

And taking another swing at tentacles exiting the anus.

Decapitation from May 31, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

Framing the head with hands holding feet as above so below, creating a nice triangular shape. The decapitated head held up by their own hands. Tentacles fuse it together. This might be the first time I put a vulva inside a border shape like a triangle, the top containing an eye.

Eggs from May 21, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

Eggs was inspired from Madam and in a way a complete failure, with size restrictions the detail was lost, being only A3 in size ( 420 x 297 mm) where as zooming in and cropping, removing the top of the body, so it is just one giant butt with wormy tentacles coming out, would have something missing. Though it is nice to have people staring at an anus, not at first knowing what this flesh hole is. Maybe (but I doubt it) I'll try again but next time have it 100% butt, no body, with a drop of vagina.

Porthole from May 17, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black paper

prismacolor pencil on black paper

prismacolor pencil on black paper

prismacolor pencil on black paper

Portholes were a commission job, the circle border to fit their frame. The vulva snails got a little lost in translation with them gaping against glass. This is the start of the circle work on the tentacles, the little dots on the tentacles are very effective.

Wet T-shirts from May 2, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
 297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

Carnivorous dinosaur heads with boobs, just cramming two cool things together.

It helped they are wet t-shirts, so they cling to the breasts and become transparent. The first one is my favourite, the other two are trying to capture the magic of the first. The first T-rex has a strong cougar feel, with the type of shirt and sun tan lines, the other two just seem younger. I guess I was truly after a Gilf feel.

Glaucus Atlanticus from Apr 25, 2013

Glaucus Atlanticus
 pencil on black A3 paper,
 297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

The sea angel crowns the girl. A blue bottle clasps the wrist. A jelly fish containing a heart, ribs, and lungs.

The hair floats, giving a nice underwater effect, a heavy green to blue halo aura, but I was tempted to put bubbles through it. I don't know why, sometimes I'm all for bubbles, I like a good clump of bubbles where it becomes a full on structure as bubbles influence other bubbles forcing their curves into straight lines, not unlike a beehive. And then they can fuck everything up, by me just trying to fill up space.

Medusae from Apr 16, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

I am happy with my self, by drawing the Skulls inside the jellyfish, it does open doors to putting all kinds of stuff in them, from a heart with rib cage, to brains and jelly beans. I was going to jam bubbles into this drawing but decided to let it go with all the over crowding already.

Another sea urchin crown. The whites of the eyes red, blood shot. A strong green to blue halo aura.

Left Overs from Apr 15, 2013

prismacolor pencil on black paper

90 minutes of memory. A cassette tape on the forehead, play symbols for pupils. This was a fast one, done in one sitting. Which was something I'd try now and then, to get a drawing finished in one day, two weeks is the average.

prismacolor pencil on black paper

Eyeball ball gag, this is something I should do for all ball gag drawing references, every time the idea to just replace the gag with an eye comes up and instead it is replaced with a spider, bug or tentacle.

prismacolor pencil on black paper

tentacles in a dress, this I was happy with. It's like tentacles rapped in plastic and it make a female body shape. I like how a little bit of lighting can create this illusion, like old paintings of coke bottles. It's also very easy to stuff up.

prismacolor pencil on black paper

The 5th element.   Milla Jovovich, a beautiful woman, who reminds me of my mother, physically.
This is me trying to capture the classic multi-pass face of innocence, crowned with the stones.

prismacolor pencil on black paper

Heart crab, I thought this was pretty cool. It's got that shine, fusing the base of the heart with the head of the crab. I was looking for this iconic body part combined with animal, like the vulva snail, and  heart squid.

prismacolor pencil on black paper

These tentacles would look great
coming out of a butt hole. I am very happy with the lines in the face. The mouth full, and the face stretching.
