Here come the roses, besides a Julia drawing, and an "Arse Full of Roses" I rarely render roses, but this is the start of the heavy rain of roses, I start to add details to roses like veins and petals. Roses have a strong payoff when completed with light hitting the petals, giving them shape. I fucked up the face though, she still looks nice but is unrecognizable, I have cranked up the wrinkles in the face, which is a bad habit I've always had, too many wrinkles or noticeable wrinkles make the subject look a lot older. I've had commission jobs where the client didn't like it because the portrait looks too old, so I have to fill in the wrinkles. And that's what makes it hard, the desire to capture all these little skin details but by doing so I'm making the picture less pretty.
