Three snails from Sep 19, 2014

"Three snails"

Prismacolor pencil on black A3 paper,
297 x 420 mm, (11.7 x 16.5 in)

Three snails exit the girl's mouth. Hands holding feet into the air. Tentacles cover wrists and ankles.

The whole thing came out well and was a pleasure to draw, I just love to do the shines on the face. The fluids on the face capture light. The girl is exhausted yet satisfied. I don't know what it is with snails, they are cute and gross at the same time, they are also shiny. The spiral of the shell. I keep their shells.

Noses are important to me, there once was a time where I would avoid noses and even draw cartoon faces without a nose. I would treat a nose like I would teeth, just like straight and perfectly dull white teeth, the nose had to be small, straight pixie-like buttons. No huge honkers, but now I love a good bridge. I want large flared nostrils.
